First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study tested whether a supplement made from cornelian cherry (a fruit) could improve heart and blood vessel function in 18 healthy amateur long-distance runners over 45 years old. Participants took either the cherry supplement or a placebo for four weeks, then switched after a break. Researchers measured blood pressure, blood vessel resistance, and oxygen sensitivity. The goal was to see if the fruit's natural compounds could boost endurance and vascular health.
