New hope for High-Risk cornea transplants: testing a treatment to prevent rejection
NCT ID NCT06753916
Summary
This study is testing whether treating donor cornea tissue with a special light and solution before transplant makes it safer and more effective for patients at high risk of transplant failure. Researchers will compare treated and untreated donor corneas in 96 adults who need a high-risk cornea transplant due to existing blood vessel growth in their eye. Participants will be followed for two years to check for safety issues and see if the treated tissue helps prevent the body from rejecting the new cornea.
