Reversible implant offers hope for severe corneal disease

NCT ID NCT04741230

Summary

This study is testing a new, reversible corneal implant made from specially processed pig tissue for people with severe keratoconus or post-LASIK ectasia—conditions where the cornea thins and bulges, causing vision loss. The implant aims to stabilize the cornea and improve vision when other treatments have failed or are not an option. Researchers will follow 15 UK patients to see if the implant is safe and if it helps.
