Shorter light treatment for blurry vision disease put to the test

Summary
This study is testing if a shorter 18-minute ultraviolet light treatment works as well as the standard 24-minute treatment to stop the progression of certain eye diseases that cause the clear front of the eye (cornea) to thin and bulge, leading to blurred vision. The treatment, called corneal crosslinking, uses vitamin B2 eye drops and UV light to strengthen the cornea. Researchers will enroll about 485 people, aged 8 and older, with conditions like keratoconus to see which treatment time better halts the disease and vision loss over 6 months.
