Emergency room trial tests new bandage for painful eye scratches
NCT ID NCT07225699
Summary
This study is testing whether collagen shields (special contact lens-like bandages) help reduce pain for people with corneal abrasions (eye scratches) treated in the emergency room. Researchers will compare pain levels and pain medication use in 60 patients who receive either the shield plus standard care or standard care alone. The main goal is to see if the shields provide better pain relief in the first few days after the injury.
