Summary
This study looks at whether doing core muscle exercises right after abdominal surgery can prevent incisional hernias and long-term pain. About 588 adults having abdominal surgery will be randomly assigned to either standard care or a core exercise program. The goal is to see if exercise is safe and helpful, rather than avoiding movement as is currently recommended.
