Simple cord drainage could save mothers from dangerous bleeding
NCT ID NCT07401160
Summary
This study is testing whether a simple procedure—draining blood from the umbilical cord right after birth—can help prevent severe bleeding in mothers. Researchers will compare 400 women in Honduras, with half receiving the cord drainage and half receiving standard care. They will measure blood loss, changes in blood counts, and whether extra treatments are needed to control bleeding.
