Cord blood transplant trial offers new hope for rare EBV diseases

NCT ID NCT07381738

First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether a transplant of donated umbilical cord blood can help control Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-related lymphoproliferative diseases, including chronic active EBV infection and EBV-associated lymphoma. About 80 people aged 14 to 80 will receive the transplant and be monitored for response and side effects. The goal is to manage the disease, not to cure it, as patients may need long-term follow-up and care.
