Cord blood trial aims to boost platelets in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07441720

Summary

This study is testing if an infusion of umbilical cord blood can safely help cancer patients whose platelet counts have dropped dangerously low due to their cancer treatments. The trial will enroll 25 patients aged 12-65 to receive the cord blood infusion and then track their platelet recovery and any side effects for a month. The goal is to see if this approach can help control this serious side effect and reduce the need for platelet transfusions.
