NCT ID NCT06742060
First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring a substance called copeptin in the blood can help doctors diagnose central diabetes insipidus (CDI) in children after brain surgery. CDI causes extreme thirst and frequent urination. The study will follow 100 children in the ICU after neurosurgery, tracking their copeptin levels over time to see if the test can tell the difference between temporary and permanent CDI. The goal is to find a faster, more accurate way to diagnose this complication.
