Scientists use special gas MRI to watch lungs breathe after valve treatment

NCT ID NCT05433961

Summary

This study tested a special MRI technique using xenon gas to take detailed pictures of how lungs work in COPD patients before and after they received valve therapy. Researchers wanted to see if this imaging method could help them better understand how the treatment affects different parts of the lungs. The study involved 27 participants who were already scheduled to receive the valve treatment as part of their regular medical care.
