Spray vaccine shows promise in taming COPD flare-ups
NCT ID NCT01842360
Summary
This study tested whether a daily under-the-tongue spray called MV130 could help adults with moderate to severe COPD. The goal was to see if this bacterial vaccine could reduce the number and severity of sudden worsening episodes (exacerbations) that people with COPD experience. For 12 months, 198 participants used either the MV130 spray or a placebo spray, and researchers tracked their health for another 6 months to compare results.
