Hidden problem: many women with COPD may suffer from leakage during rehab

NCT ID NCT07134400

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will check how common urinary incontinence is in women with COPD who are doing pulmonary rehabilitation. Researchers will measure leakage with a pad test and ask about quality of life. The goal is to understand the problem better so future treatments can be developed.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If this study finds a strong link, it could pave the way for future research on treatments that combine COPD rehab with pelvic floor therapy.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early observational study (100 women) that only measures the problem—it does not test any treatment. Results may not apply to all women with COPD.
