One scan, two diseases: research tests if cancer screens can spot COPD

NCT ID NCT07482475

Summary

This study aims to learn if the CT scans people get for lung cancer screening can also be used to spot Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Researchers will look at existing scan results from 200 current and former smokers and check them against breathing tests to see if the scans accurately indicate COPD. The goal is to gather knowledge about a more efficient way to screen for this lung condition.
