New drug targets hidden inflammation in Smokers' lungs

Summary
This study tested how a new drug called itepekimab affects inflammation in the airways of people with COPD. It involved 49 current and former smokers aged 40-70 who were already on standard COPD medications. Researchers gave participants the drug for 12 weeks to see how it changed biological markers of inflammation in their lungs and nose.
