Common cough syrup put to the test against standard drug for serious lung disease

NCT ID NCT06377410

Summary

This study is testing if an over-the-counter ivy leaf cough syrup (Prospan) works as well as a common prescription mucus-thinner (NAC) for people with COPD. The goal is to see which one better helps reduce coughing, ease mucus, and improve quality of life over 30 days. About 100 adults with stable COPD will take one of the two treatments and report on their symptoms.
