Painting roofs white to cool minds: a simple fix for climate anxiety?
NCT ID NCT07251218
Summary
This study is testing if painting roofs with a special reflective coating can help people feel better mentally during extreme heat. Researchers are working with 800 households in Ahmedabad, India, to see if these 'cool roofs' lower indoor temperatures and reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress. The goal is to find affordable ways to help communities cope with the mental health impacts of climate change and rising temperatures.
