Can cooking classes be medicine for the heart and mind?

Summary

This study is testing whether hands-on cooking classes that teach the Mediterranean diet can help improve heart health and mental well-being in racially and ethnically diverse seniors. Researchers will compare 96 participants aged 55 and older, with half attending 3 months of cooking classes and the other half continuing their usual diet. The goal is to see if this 'Food is Medicine' approach can lower blood pressure, improve blood sugar and cholesterol, and reduce feelings of loneliness and depression.
