Can cooking classes outperform a handout for a healthier heart?

NCT ID NCT06890728

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a 12-week cooking and nutrition education program could help people eat healthier and improve heart health markers better than just receiving standard healthy eating handouts. Researchers enrolled 55 adults aged 31-59 who cook at home at least once a week. They measured changes in diet quality, weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol over 15 weeks to see if the hands-on cooking classes made a difference.
