Smart inhaler trial aims to help asthma patients breathe easier

NCT ID NCT03890666

First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether a digital inhaler system (a smart inhaler with an app) helps people with asthma gain better control of their condition. About 333 people aged 13 and older with asthma took part. Half used the smart inhaler system, and the other half used their usual rescue inhaler. The goal was to see if the smart system leads to meaningful improvement in asthma control after 12 weeks.
