Landmark study tracks hidden dangers of giant birthmarks in babies

Summary
This study aims to better understand the risks faced by children born with large pigmented birthmarks (congenital nevi). Researchers will follow over 800 children under age 2 for several years to learn how often these birthmarks are linked to brain development delays or skin cancer. The goal is to create clearer guidelines for monitoring and treating these children to improve their health and quality of life.
