New ultrasound technique could predict brain disorders in babies
NCT ID NCT06940713
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 42 times
Summary
This study tests a new, painless ultrasound technique called functional ultrasound imaging (fUS) to see if it can measure brain activity in newborns at high risk for developmental disorders. Researchers will scan 76 babies, including those born very early or with other risk factors, to check if the method works well. If successful, fUS could help doctors detect brain problems earlier and start treatment sooner.
