New 3D breast scan could replace mammograms?
NCT ID NCT05036096
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study compares a new 3D breast CT scan (CBBCT) with standard mammography for breast cancer screening. Over 1,000 women aged 30 or older (40+ for routine screening) will get both scans within 4 weeks. Researchers will measure radiation dose and how often each method leads to extra tests (recall rates). The goal is to see if CBBCT is a better screening tool.
