Computer vs. doctor: race to get kids off life support
NCT ID NCT00678912
Summary
This study tested whether a computer system could help children breathe on their own faster after being on a ventilator, compared to the usual care from doctors and therapists. It involved 30 children with respiratory failure. The goal was to see if the automated system could safely reduce the time needed to wean a child off the breathing machine.
