First seen Oct 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study tested whether artificial intelligence (AI) systems can help doctors find precancerous polyps during colonoscopy. Over 334,000 veterans from VA medical centers across the U.S. took part. Some centers used AI devices, while others did not, and researchers compared how many polyps were found. The goal is to see if AI can improve early detection of colorectal cancer.
