Squeeze away chemo pain: gloves and socks tested to stop nerve damage

NCT ID NCT05531916

First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests if wearing tight gloves and foot caps during chemotherapy can prevent nerve damage (tingling, numbness, pain) caused by the drug paclitaxel. 182 people with nasopharyngeal cancer will wear the pressurized gear on one hand and foot, while the other side serves as a comparison. The goal is to see if this simple, non-drug method reduces nerve side effects.
