Pumping legs to pump the heart: boots tested for fluid relief

NCT ID NCT07377019

Summary

This study is testing whether special inflatable boots that rhythmically squeeze the legs can help people hospitalized for sudden worsening of heart failure. The boots are meant to help move excess fluid out of the legs, which may help the heart pump better and improve kidney function. About 100 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the boot therapy along with standard water pill (diuretic) treatment, or standard treatment alone.
