Ultrasound vs. Old-School exam: which wins for dialysis patients?

NCT ID NCT07178470

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study compares three ways to check for fluid overload (too much fluid in the body) in people on home dialysis: a symptom questionnaire, a physical exam, and a lung ultrasound. Fluid overload often leads to hospital visits, so finding the best detection method is important. Researchers will enroll 90 adults on home dialysis for at least three months. Participants will undergo all three assessments, and the results will be compared to see which method is most accurate.
