First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study compares three ways to reach a vein when putting in a pacemaker or defibrillator for the first time. About 900 adults will be randomly assigned to one of three techniques: ultrasound-guided puncture from inside the incision, ultrasound-guided puncture through the skin, or the standard cut-down method. The goal is to see which approach is most successful and causes the fewest complications.
