Simpler surgery for rectal tumors? study tests newer, faster method

NCT ID NCT07373015

Summary

This study aims to compare two minimally invasive procedures for removing small rectal neuroendocrine tumors. It will test if a newer, simpler method called mDS-EMR is as effective at completely removing the tumor as the standard method (ESD), while potentially being faster, safer, and less expensive. The trial will involve 118 participants with small tumors and will measure success by how often the tumor is fully removed in one piece.
