First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study compares two types of drug-coated stents (small mesh tubes placed in heart arteries) in 2,100 people who have had a heart attack or unstable chest pain. The goal is to see which stent better prevents heart-related death, heart attacks, or the need for repeat procedures over 12 months. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the ihtDEStiny® or Xience™ stent during a standard artery-opening procedure.
