Study tests if two common MRI dyes give equally clear breast cancer images

NCT ID NCT03730051

Summary

This study compared two different contrast agents (dyes) used during breast MRI scans to see if one produces clearer images than the other. 300 women scheduled for a breast MRI were randomly assigned to receive either Dotarem or Gadavist. Radiologists then reviewed the scan images without knowing which dye was used, grading the image quality to see if both agents were equally effective at highlighting breast tissue for diagnosis.
