Liver cancer treatment showdown: drug combo vs. local procedures
NCT ID NCT05537402
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study aimed to compare two standard treatments for people with large, intermediate-stage liver cancer that cannot be surgically removed. One group received a combination of two drugs (atezolizumab and bevacizumab), while the other group received a local procedure (TACE or TARE) to block the tumor's blood supply. The study was terminated early after enrolling only one participant, so no conclusions can be drawn about which treatment is better.
