New once-daily pill may simplify fluid control for heart failure patients

NCT ID NCT03509545

First seen May 01, 2026 ยท Last updated May 01, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a once-daily dose of Torsemide works as well as the standard twice-daily Furosemide for removing excess fluid in people with stable congestive heart failure. Twenty adults on a stable dose of Furosemide were enrolled. The main goal was to compare how much sodium (salt) the body gets rid of over 24 hours. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
