Back surgery showdown: which technique offers better pain relief?
NCT ID NCT07542054
First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study compares two surgical approaches for degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis, a condition that causes back and leg pain due to narrowed spinal canals. Researchers will follow 56 adults over 40 who haven't improved with non-surgical treatments. One group will receive a less invasive decompression surgery, while the other will have a more extensive decompression with spinal hardware. The goal is to see which method provides better pain relief and functional recovery over 18 months.
