NCT ID NCT07561073
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial compares a new surgery called partial stomach-partitioning gastrojejunostomy (SPGJ) to the standard surgery for relieving stomach blockage in advanced gastric cancer. The goal is to see which surgery better helps patients eat normally, with fewer complications like delayed stomach emptying. About 80 adults with advanced cancer that cannot be removed will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
stomach-partitioning gastrojejunostomy (SPGJ) surgery
What this could lead to
If SPGJ works better than the standard surgery, it could offer a safer way to relieve stomach blockage, reduce complications, and improve quality of life for people with advanced gastric cancer.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Both surgeries are invasive and carry risks like infection or bleeding.
