Sciatica sufferers: which quick fix works best?
NCT ID NCT07161323
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study compares two hands-on techniques—SNAG (a gentle spinal glide) and sciatic nerve mobilization exercises—for easing non-specific sciatica pain. Thirty adults with pain lasting over 12 weeks will try both methods in a crossover design, with each session separated by 10 days. Researchers will measure changes in disability, range of motion, and function to see which approach offers better short-term relief.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glide (SNAG) technique and Sciatic Nerve Mobilization Exercise (SNME)
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show which hands-on technique provides faster relief for sciatica pain, helping guide physical therapy choices.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage crossover trial with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The effects measured are short-term, and long-term benefits are unknown.
