Simulation showdown: which training method teaches blood gas testing better?

NCT ID NCT06493188

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will test whether a realistic, high-tech simulation (using an actor and a medical training room) helps medical and nursing students learn arterial blood gas testing better than a low-tech paper-based discussion. Thirty-six early-career students will be randomly assigned to one of the two training methods. The goal is to see which approach improves practical skills, confidence, and teamwork.
