New HIV prevention study tests rectal douche vs. oral pills
NCT ID NCT06560684
Summary
This study aims to compare two on-demand HIV prevention methods for men who have anal sex. Participants will try both a rectal douche and oral pills containing the drug tenofovir, in a random order, to see which is safer and more acceptable. The research will measure side effects, how easy each method is to use, and how much of the drug gets into the body's tissues.
