New heart ablation tool could cut radiation exposure for AF patients

NCT ID NCT07130773

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a newer catheter for treating atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) that may eliminate the need for a pre-procedure CT scan, reducing radiation and costs. About 58 adults with AF who are candidates for ablation will be randomly assigned to the new or standard catheter. The main goal is to see if the new approach shortens X-ray time during the procedure.
