NCT ID NCT04801797

First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated May 31, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study compares a newer, targeted drug combination (venetoclax and azacitidine) to standard chemotherapy for adults newly diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). About 172 fit adults will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments. The goal is to see if the newer combo can control the disease as well as or better than standard chemo, with potentially fewer side effects.
