First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study compared two ways to block the suprascapular nerve (a nerve in the shoulder) to control pain after arthroscopic shoulder surgery. Sixty adults having shoulder surgery received either an anterior (front) or posterior (back) nerve block. Researchers measured pain levels at several times after surgery and checked for side effects like diaphragm paralysis. The goal was to see which approach provides better pain relief and is safer.
