New study seeks best way to block cancer pain without drugs

Summary

This study compares two minimally invasive nerve block techniques to relieve severe upper abdominal cancer pain that hasn't responded to standard treatments. About 56 adults with stomach, pancreatic, or liver cancer will receive either a transdiscal or paravertebral approach. The goal is to see which method better reduces pain and improves quality of life.
