Study tests which surgical mesh works best for pelvic organ prolapse
NCT ID NCT03681223
Summary
This study compared two brands of surgical mesh used to repair vaginal vault prolapse, a condition where the top of the vagina drops down. Over 100 patients were randomly assigned to receive one of the two mesh types during a minimally invasive surgery. Researchers followed patients for two years to see which mesh was better at preventing the prolapse from coming back and which had fewer complications.
