Scientists test which intense workouts hit hardest on heart and muscles

NCT ID NCT07180550

Summary

This study aims to understand how different types of high-intensity exercise affect the body in the short term. Researchers will compare several workout styles—including high-intensity interval training (HIIT) on bikes and treadmills, and functional training circuits—in 27 healthy, active adults. They will measure immediate and lasting effects on heart rate, muscle soreness, fatigue, and oxygen use to see which methods create the strongest physical responses.
