Heart valve showdown: two tiny implants face off in Life-Saving trial
NCT ID NCT06049654
Summary
This study compares two different types of replacement heart valves for patients whose previous biological valve has worn out. Researchers will randomly assign 104 patients to receive either the self-expanding Allegra valve or the balloon-expandable Edwards valve, both implanted through minimally invasive procedures. The main goal is to see which valve performs better at reducing pressure across the valve 30 days after implantation.
