Heart artery study tests smarter way to choose treatment
NCT ID NCT01881555
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at two methods doctors use to decide how to treat people with multiple blocked heart arteries. One method uses standard X-ray pictures (angiography), while the other adds a special pressure test (FFR) to see which blockages are most serious. The goal was to see if using the pressure test leads to fewer heart attacks, strokes, or deaths over one year. Over 900 adults with stable or recent heart problems took part.
