Summary
This study looked at 310 adults with liver cirrhosis who developed a serious belly infection called spontaneous bacterial peritonitis. Researchers compared two antibiotics given through a vein: ciprofloxacin and ceftriaxone. The goal was to see which one works better at lowering fever, easing belly pain, and reducing infection markers in the fluid around the belly after 48 hours.
