Volunteers to carry pocket-sized defibrillators in bid to boost cardiac arrest survival

NCT ID NCT07042061

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving volunteer community responders a small, portable defibrillator (mAED) can help them treat cardiac arrest patients faster and more often. About 1,000 volunteers in Singapore will carry the device for up to a year and use it when alerted to a nearby emergency. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and can improve survival rates.
