First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looked at whether communication training for pharmacists and general physicians helps them involve older patients in decisions to stop or lower medications for heart disease and diabetes. Researchers recruited 310 patients aged 75 and older who were taking certain heart or diabetes drugs. Some healthcare teams received the training first, others later. The goal was to see if training leads to more medication reductions while keeping patients safe.
